Material Handler
Ranger Die is seeking a Material Handler to support stamping production on night shift.
Night shift runs from 4:
30 pm to 3:
00 am, Monday through Thursday.
When overtime is available, the shift will be extended to 11 or 12 hours (no Friday nights).
SUMMARYThe Material Handler's main purpose is to keep things moving in the press room so the production process runs smoothly.
Must be able to plan for movement of needed parts and material for production.
Keep all materials and products neat and organized.
Assist production operators with timely delivery of products and containers, as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist press operators with set up and troubleshooting of metal stamping dies for production runs.
Pick up and deliver coils, oil, parts, and packaging supplies, as needed, to and from the presses and shipping areas.
Load coils.
Return correctly identified materials to proper location in inventory.
Dispose of scrap.
Perform necessary identification and inventory paperwork.
Ensure correct heat is brought and issued to correct lot/press (practice FIFO).
Successfully complete forklift and overhead crane certification programs.
Practice safe and alert material handling at all times.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation - High School diploma or GEDExperience - 1-2 years of experience with progressive stamping, in roles such as press operator, die setter, or material handlerLicense(s)/Registration(s)/Certification(s) - must be able to successfully complete training to receive permits for both forklifts and overhead cranesSkills/Knowledge/Abilities - basic math skills; ability to read and write English; ability to judge spatial relationships and use logic (common sense); basic mechanical inclination; ability to work well with minimal direct supervision, ability to work well with others; effective time management skillsENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURESWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
